The town of Lazne Belohrad lies in a wide basin of the Javorka stream surrounded by forested hills of Kamenná hůra, Zvičina and Hořický Chlum. A unique example of the most diverse vegetation is the beautiful Bažantnice park, whose peat lakes gave rise to the complex of the local Lazne Belohrad spa. The actual founding of the spa was the achievement of Prussian Countess Anna of Asseburg in 1885, who conducted the first successful experiments with the healing properties of local peat here. Peat treatment, clean mountain air and a peaceful atmosphere – all this is here for the successful and beneficial treatment of patients with various ailments.
Natural healing resources: sulfur-iron peat from a local source, mineral water – iron-rich spring water
Leisure time:
In the magical environment of the Bažantnice park near the spa complex, visitors can use the sports area with tennis courts, tennis hall, volleyball court, football field, mini-golf course, pétanque court. During a walk through the town center you can visit the memorial of local native K. V. Rais and view the Baroque chateau from the 18th century built by Giovanni Santini, or the Baroque Church of All Saints from the 17th century. Among the most popular is a walk to Byšičky – a hill with a cemetery and Church of SS Peter and Paul, from which a wide view of the "Rais Country" is offered.
