The ancient town of Trebon lies in the typical picturesque South Bohemian countryside. Thanks to its abundance of water resources, it is often called the "town of ponds" and "land of mirrors." Trebon and its surroundings form a natural biosphere reserve under the auspices of UNESCO. The historic town center, Renaissance chateau, Regent brewery, extensive parks and the famous Svět (World) Pond – all of this together creates an incomparable atmosphere. Trebon is known for its long-standing tradition of fish farming, so you can savor fish delicacies from the excellent Trebon carp in local restaurants.

Natural healing source: peat

Leisure time:

Nature House: Permanent exhibition with a visitor interactive center opened in 2004. Here visitors can obtain comprehensive information in an entertaining way about the history of the Trebon region, the development of fish farming, spa culture and natural attractions in the Trebon area.

Trebon Castle: Trebon Castle is one of the largest castle complexes in the Czech Republic. Its present form is the work of Renaissance builders who constructed a magnificent residence of the important Czech Rosenberg family on the site of a Gothic fortress. Another powerful family, the Schwarzenbergs, enriched the castle with Baroque additions to the outer courtyard. Tour routes: "Rosenberg Renaissance Interiors," "Private Schwarzenberg Apartments," "Stable," "Dog Kitchen and Casemates." The castle is surrounded by a beautiful park with ramparts, and a large part is occupied by a repository of the State Regional Archive, where you can research genealogies.

Schwarzenberg Tomb: Family tomb of the Schwarzenbergs built in the Neo-Gothic style between 1874 and 1877. It is located on the southeast side of the Svět Pond, surrounded by an English park. The chapel is often used for concerts during the summer months.

Square with Town Hall Tower: Masaryk Square, surrounded by townhouses with Renaissance and Baroque gables, is the natural center of the entire town heritage area. The most valuable house on the square is the White Horse House from 1544. Another interesting building is the old town hall, from whose 31-meter-high tower there is a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. In the middle of the square stands a Renaissance stone fountain, and nearby a Baroque Marian column. The town is surrounded on all sides by gates: Budějovická, Jindřichohradecká, Novohradská, Svinenská.

The Dean's Church and Augustinian Monastery: The Dean's Church of Our Lady the Queen and St. Giles is located near the square. It is built in the Gothic style with a two-nave layout. The most significant of the Gothic artworks preserved in the church is the sandstone Madonna from around 1450. The church is part of the complex of buildings of the former Augustinian monastery, founded by the Rosenbergs in the 14th century. The cloister with almost intact frescoes and a paradise garden with a well are preserved to this day.

Regent Brewery: The brewery was founded in 1379. During the Middle Ages its good reputation grew, and after 1698, already in the ownership of Prince Schwarzenberg, it moved to the former Rosenberg armory. Guided tours with tastings of the golden brew are available here. More information about tour times can be found on the Regent Brewery website www.pivovar-regent.cz/cz/prohlidka-pivovaru.
